SCHOLARSHIPS
Graduate Student Scholarships
KATS distributes 4 individual scholarships annually to assist KY athletic training students with the financial costs associated with the national Board of Certification (BOC) Examination. Qualified applicants must be eligible to sit for BOC exam.
A verification form from the student's program director will be required. The program director will have to verify a student's grade point average and BOC eligibility. Applicants must also secure one additional recommendation from a professor, coach, or other professional contact who is not related to the applicant and is someone other than the program director.
Scholarship awards will be determined by the KATS Chair of Awards/Scholarships Committee and the 4 Regional Representatives.
NOTE: Previous recipients of a KATS scholarship are not eligible for future scholarship awards.
All applicants will need to complete the scholarship form between February 17th and April 14th.
Bob Hamilton Scholarship
Named in honor of the first Athletic Trainer at Saint Xavier High School and long-time KATS supporter. Bob’s career included work as a paramedic in Jefferson County and educating Athletic Trainers (students and licensed) on proper emergency procedures. Recipients will have accumulated volunteer service hours in the field of athletic training under the direct supervision of a credentialed Athletic Trainer.
This scholarship is separate from the BOC examination scholarship above and requires completion of the Bob Hamilton Scholarship Application
Undergraduate Student Scholarships
KATS distributes 2 individual scholarships to assist KY undergraduate students that intend to pursue a career in athletic training. These scholarships are intended to assist with the financial costs associated with obtaining a master's degree in athletic training.
Scholarship awards will be determined by the KATS Awards committee.
Note: Previous recipients of a KATS scholarship are not eligible for future scholarship awards.
All applicants will need to complete the scholarship form between February 17th and April 14th.
